One is just a pair of verniers, this allows the cams to be properly timed and gives better torque and progression
Two is a modifed head and verniers together with optional 52mm TB, this normally gives around 150BHP
Three is a throttle body kit with verniers, airbox and ECU, this can give up to 160BHP. This is trickier to fit since you need to hardwire the ECU.
The full details of these kits are shown below
K14 - Caterham Supersport drivability kit
The Caterham superport cams are very rarely properly timed which gives bad road manners and poor drivability, typically the inlet cam is retarded by up to 15 degrees which greatly reduces low and mid range torque. This kit comprises a pair of Piper verniers which when properly set can improve mid range torque substantially (up to 15lb/ft). Throttle response and drivability is markedly improved.
Price £154
Fitting to SS Caterham se7en (includes cam timing check and set) - £145
Supply and fit optional 52mm TF160 TB - £130
K15 - Caterham Supersport 150 kit (Gives 150BHP+ on 1800SS, 145BHP+ on 1600SS)
Includes a ported cylinder head with standard sized inlet and exhaust valves, the head is fitted with your existing SS cams . The head is provided on an exchange basis and as supplied flows enough air for 175BHP so is ideal when later upgrades are planned. Gives large gains in torque and much better drivability. Works with the standard SS ECU.
Unlike other conversions head work includes full porting to both inlet and exhaust ports, modification of exhaust valves to improve airflow ,tapering of inlet valve guides and work to the combustion chamber to improve airflow and combustion.
Recent examples on 1800K SS have given up to 157BHP and 140lb/ft.
Comprises
Extensive porting work to your cylinder head
Modification work to your plenum and if necessary your exhaust manifold (included in fitting)
Price £525
Fitting kit for above £125 (HD head gasket, bolts, gaskets and oil seals)
Fitting above kit to SS Caterham se7en - £300
Verniers for above kit - £220 (includes fitting and setting cam timing)
Supply and fit optional 52mm TF160 TB - £130
K16 - Caterham Supersport TB kit (Gives 160BHP+ on 1800SS, 150BHP+ on 1600SS)
Gives excellent power increase across the range and vastly improved idle, progression, drivability and throttle response; comprising Jenvey DTH throttle bodies with composite trumpets and fuel rail mountings, Emerald M3DK ECU with suitable map and all gaskets/fittings necessary to fit
Above kit £1400
Fitting of above kit to SS Caterham Se7en £350
Verniers for above kit - £285 (includes fitting and setting cam timing)
Optional airbox kit for Caterham seven - add £300 fitting £50
Cheers
