Bon ca va en jeter un coup pour ceux qui crient a la superiorite technologique de VW...
En resume, VW pourrait signer un accord pour fabriquer un minivan aux US avec Chrysler.
Bon c'est pas si surprenant que ca sachant que:
- VW voulait fabriquer le retrovan mais c'est passe a la trappe
- le numero 1 de la marque VW (pas le groupe) Wolfgang Bernhard, est l'ancien numero 2 de Chrysler et bossait avec Dieter Zetsche. Or ce dernier vient d'etre promu numero 1 du groupe DaimlerChrysler. Bref, ca reste dans la famille...
Il se murmure d'ailleur que Wolfgang Bernhard, pourraitr retourner chez DC pour prendre la tete du Mercedes, car pour le moment Dieter Zetsche cumule les roles, et donc encore plus de pouvoir que Schrempp, parti a la retraite...
Bernhard devait d'ailleur a l'origine prendre cette place (head of Mercedes), mais a ete pousse dehors apres un conseil d'administration tumultueux...

DETROIT -- German carmaker Volkswagen is in advanced talks with rival DaimlerChrysler about forming an alliance to build a VW minivan for sale in the United States, sources familiar with the situation said on Monday.
The deal was first reported by Germany's Handelsblatt newspaper in a preview of its Tuesday edition.
The paper said Dieter Zetsche, chief executive of DaimlerChrysler's U.S.-based Chrysler arm, and VW brand chief Wolfgang Bernhard could sign an agreement sealing the deal at next month's auto show in Frankfurt.
Under the alliance, the automakers would build a van for Volkswagen based on the Chrysler Voyager, Handelsblatt said.
Volkswagen declined to comment on the report on Monday, but two sources familiar with the plan told Reuters it had been in the works for some time.
The sources said no final deal had been reached yet, but added that it had been approved in principle by the board of management and supervisory board at DaimlerChrysler in Stuttgart.
The sources said it was not clear where the minivan for the U.S. market would be built, but Chrysler builds its minivans in St. Louis, Missouri, as well as Windsor, Ontario.
